Data Deletion

You can delete your data from Æthelstan at any time, without asking us. There are three ways, and each one gives you a confirmation code and a status page you can open without signing in.

1. Delete the data for one connected account

In your Æthelstan dashboard, open Settings → Connected accounts and press Disconnect next to the account.

• The stored access token is deleted immediately — Æthelstan can no longer post or read as you.
• Everything else we hold for that account — follower history, post metrics, and the commenter ids behind any replies we sent — is deleted within 30 days.
• Reconnecting the same account inside those 30 days cancels the deletion, so re-authorizing an account does not cost you your reporting history. Disconnect again to restart it.

2. Delete your whole Æthelstan account

In your dashboard, open Settings → Delete this account and type your account name to confirm. Access to every connected platform is revoked and posting stops immediately; everything else — your brand library, calendar, produced content, metrics and media — is erased within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires us to keep, which is billing and tax records.

3. Remove Æthelstan from the platform itself

Removing our app in the platform’s own settings ends its access there. For Meta, that also sends us an automatic notification: we delete our stored access to that account the moment it arrives, and the rest of its data within 30 days. As with a disconnect, reconnecting inside that window cancels it.

• Instagram — Settings and privacy → Website permissions → Apps and websites → remove Æthelstan.
• Facebook— Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → remove Æthelstan.
• TikTok— Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions → remove Æthelstan.
• YouTube / Google — Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access → remove Æthelstan.

Check the status of a request

Every request gets a confirmation code. Open app.aethelstan.media/data-deletion/status and add your code to the address — ?code=YOUR_CODE — to see whether the deletion is scheduled or complete, and what was deleted. The page needs no login: someone who has removed our app has no account to sign into.

What gets deleted

• The access tokens for your connected accounts.
• The follower history and post metrics we collected from those accounts.
• The platform ids and usernames of anyone we replied to on your behalf.
• Your brand library and the onboarding information you provided.
• The content we produced, its schedule, and the video files in our storage.
• Your link hub and its click analytics.

We cannot delete posts that were already published to your own accounts — those are yours, they live on the platforms, and only you can remove them there.
